I have lots of relations from Aberdeen who moved to Oshawa, ON and Moose Jaw, SK over the years and they have met a fair few Scots there.

I agree with Bali, I'm moving over for many reasons of which money is only one and am more interested in my prospects once I arrive - in that sense it is nice that Canada is apparently strong!

Hi and thanks for this! There's a few comments on your post that I'll need to look into. I certainly didnt know CIMA doesnt require pre-qual work experience. That was the Catch 22 situ I found myself...

I have got an 'Ordinary', i.e. Scottish non-honours degree, in Psychology and Social Sciences. It's not quite useless, but from what I can see, Accountancy firms are able to pick and choose...

I also have many friends who are accountants and did Geology/Engineering degrees etc originally. But - we went to Uni in Scotland: 3 years (which I did) only gets you an 'Ordinary'...

Hi all
I am having to retrain before applying to Australia for PR as I currently have insufficient points.
I've been accepted for Accountancy degrees here in Scotland - so thats a 4 year degree...

I had seen this conversion to CGA option on the ACCA website but didnt know if they were completely biased and making it sound a lot more straightforward than it is, so that's good news. Thanks.

Yep youre right thanks - I mean reapply under the other code of Financial Manager (which is on the list) - the previous code I went under is definitely a hiding to nothing!
