The American was in my top 5 films this year - I loved it. Looked stunning, great acting, though I agree a little with a slightly botched ending I thought....
Debut film from acclaimed rock photographer Anton Corbijn - the 2010 "Blow Up" - i.e. genius to be appreciated over time....?
It was diametrically opposite to one of my top 3 of the year - The Town - what a bloody brilliant film that was...

Apologies for bringing a long dead thread back to life, but I wanted to boast that I managed to sit through the whole of something called 'St Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold' on the flight home on Friday............. the number '2' suggests it was some sort of sequel to something........ the mind boggles...... didn't the original St Trinians films have a sort of innocent charm, or is my memory fading with age?
Rupert Everett (doing the Alastair Sim headmistress drag act thing), Colin Firth, David Tennant and Gemma Arterton........ let's hope their careers survive......
Perhaps a new thread: "Best Cast In A Terrible Film"?

You didn't like Ronin??
It has two wonderful assets:
1 - One of the all-time great car chases
2 - Natascha McElhone

Re: Worst Film You've Ever Seen
The worst movie I have ever seen is oddly also one of my favourites = it was a 70s movie called JungleMan. It isn't even listed on IMDB - only a 40's movie of the same name is....
Jungleman is basically a Rasta-far-i superhero with incredible powers who saves a western lady downed in an aeroplane crash from nefarious white cimo-types. Inbetween times he smokes unspeakabably large spliffs and harvests sustenance from the fruits of the land and sea.
It is truly an awful movie, but I should like to watch it again (I saw it last as a student in the eighties).
It was filmed in loco at Jamaica, and if memory serves the star was a local islander who never featured again in another movie. It was a bit of a cult classic. The acting was quite atrocious. But very charming.
If anyone knows it and has a torrent to it, I should be eterntally grateful......
