It happens to every great sporting event mate . The whole thing just becomes a charade and media spotlight taking away focus from the real show which is the sport.

There's been more stories on the people attending Wimbledon than actual tennis and there's been some very good tennis , it's a shame but it's the world we live in.

The worst thing about Wimbledon coverage is the irritating commentators, I just wish they would STFU and let the tennis do the talking, they seem to just love the sound of their own voices, and being 'experts' they just keep harking back to the good old days when they were playing.

It did make me chuckle to see Tom Watson availing himself of the privilege of sitting there, when he would probably rail against the Royals and their privileged status on any other day.....oh the hypocrisy!

Hypocrisy does not have any definition to the Islington Socialist Set .

As usual, a very well written and informed comment.

I can't see any other winner than Federer. I had him down as eventual winner before the tournament and now with Murray, Wawrinka, Nadal and Novak all out, I really can't see a big challenge to him. He had a restful first half of the year came back and won Halle on grass. He is ultra keen for one more slam and Wimbledon does suit him a lot. The crowd will be 100% behind Fed. The experience and cool head that he has, the others could wilt in the Centre Court pressure...

I hope they paid you since Wimbledon 2017 (gentlemen's) exactly followed your script!

Read this with disgust and just felt the need to highlight this. This shit is what I was rallying against. I know Scamp's comment was meant in the positive, but this negative crap is something I will never agree with.

I'm all for journalists asking questions that some people want answered but there are ways of doing things. Listing nations and making throwaway questions like "so what are you?" just isn't pleasant.

Fair play to her, seems like some classy replies.
