Likewise.

I missed the first 20 minutes (but plan to watch it all again later) but I loved it. The ceremony was warm, witty and very British in its eccentricity and the breadth of things covered. Glad there was so much music as that's one of our major exports to the world these days. Ditto literature, especially the wonderful children's books that were featured. As a nation we are rather quirky and so was the show.

Adrian Burley is an utter twat. He wrote his own resignation letter with those bigoted tweets last night.

It's everywhere - with everything else.

As I write, the coverage (all in English commentary) is:
AD Sports:
3 - Football (live)
4 - Rowing (live)
5 - (not Olympics, old footy)
6 - (not Olympics, Hungarian F1 Qualifying)
7 - Cycling (live)
8 - Equestrian (live)
Dubai Sports:
1 - Women's Handball (live)
2 - Women's Table Tennis (live)
Sharjah Sports:
Women's Shooting (live, but Arabic)
OSN Sports:
1 - Cycling (live)
2 - Women's Table Tennis (live)
3 - Mixed Doubles Badminton (live)
4 - Women's Beach Volleyball (live, in brilliant central location on Horse Guards Parade)
OSN Olympics:
1 - Handball (as above)
2 - Women's Fencing (live, though nothing happening at the moment)
OSN Sports 3D:
Men's Gymnastics
OSN Sports Extra:
Men's Beach Volleyball
Al Jazeera Sports:
Various, as above

No idea what to watch, so.............. it will have to be women's beach volleyball..........

Which is great, but I'm in Germany at the moment, so it don'y help me much.

Anyway, Wiggie and Cav need to get a move on, leaders are 6 mins ahead...

Massive controversy!!! At Eton Dorney (rowing venue) a hot dog vendor has run out of bread!!! (Sky Sports' Chris Skudder, Twitter).

More seriously, nobody is allowed to take drinks in (they have to buy the sponsors' drinks at presumably "sponsors' prices").

There are 25,000 people in already apparently........... Brendan Gallagher of the Nazigraf reporting that his train to London was packed this morning - at 5.46am!!

I suppose so - how do you know the drinking water is free? "I'm sorry, Sir, but you cannot fill that bottle from our sponsored taps......"

The NHS segment last night is stirring up some reaction, including this in the Daily M***...............

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/ar...glorified.html

Blimey........... 'people have died at the hands of the NHS so we shouldn't glorify them'..... or something...........

"But Locog said free water would be available across the venues... people would be allowed to keep their bottles to fill up once through security"

God that piece sounded like it was written by a teabagger. I did laugh knowing Romney was there, and the NHS bit was about as close as you'll ever see the Brits sticking two fingers up at Tea Party activists after last year's insults.
