Agreed, I also thinks it's a shame that players (in this case Evans) no longer have the moral backbone to actually defend the misaligned player at the time. I remember in days gone by some players would actually remonstrate with the ref to try and prevent a player from the other team getting sent off if it is wasn't a fair decision.

Yes prejudiced by Torres previous record.

I 'd love this to be the case but I think human nature will always prevent 100% neutrality in this circumstances. Even if its only on a subliminal level having the knowledge some has cheated before is bound to have some impact on your decision... Maybe that's where the technology would add benefit, not saying its the right course but slow mo doesnt lie.....

In fact, there was a directive a few years back that this could be classified as 'time wasting'. The key factor though was........ that he has the opportunity to play on, but chooses not to. This led to a bizarre situation at (I think from memory) an Everton-v-Middlesbrough game when someone like Tim Cahill kept the ball near the corner flag.... Boro backed off and left him all alone, and the ref blew - correctly - for time-wasting (indirect free-kick to Boro, which they wasted). If Boro had challenged him, tried to tackle him, etc - no problem, as that is normal open play.

A Young.... an expert? really? I'll admit he was definitely guilty once or twice towards the end of last season and therefore is open to being labelled as a diver. At the time Suarez was getting dogs abuse for it and Liverpool fans tried to tar him with the same brush. The difference was that subsequent to his theatrics Fergie (quite publically) told him to sort it out and try and stay on his feet. No backing him or saying it didn't happen, just cut it out! He has been injured pretty much since, however, so we don't know if this worked.

Either way putting A Young who has dived a few times in the same basket with the experts Suarez and Torres is crazy.

Torres has been doing it for years. The only difference between Torres and Suarez is that Suarez is a genuine an all round scumbag, where as Torres is just a bit of a dick on occasions. Also Torres is World Class, where Suarez although I admit is good is to inconsistent at the moment.

you mean like you

I don't get this 'Torres is a diver' thing. Sure Torres in form goes down, but only because he plays in positions where defenders desperately hack away at him a lot. As for simulation like Young was so good at last year (like you say we'll see how it pans out for him - he's shown signs of it this year by the way although not as blatant as last year) that is just not Torres' style at all...

The game was awesome. Quality wasn't great especially in first half, but there was plenty of drama. I was absolutely cream crackered this morning though..

That's a bit uncalled for is it not knobface?

Come on, he hasn't shown any signs of it this year..... he's only just come back from injury so has only played in 1/2 games. Just because he went down after a challenge by Ivanovic who is probably rated on a similar level as Scholesy for his tackling doesn't mean it was a dive.

As for your blinkers regarding Torres..... here a good one for you..

There are plenty more on youtube........
