Re: Justice for Natalie
It's sad to see a major hotel won't admit liability for being at fault and compensate her in some manner. This is unfortunately typical in this region and may never be resolved as the judicial system is weak and underdeveloped.
Putting my work hat (sorry but it has to be said) on I can only advise all expats to not rely on medical insurance alone. That will pay the doctor's fees but it won't replace/shore up your income while you are convalescing (on in poor Natalie's case help with her likely permanent care). The region as a whole, and especially the expat community is woefully under insured when it comes to accident/critical illness/income protection. This isn't a plug for business, I'm busy enough already - whoever you deal with for money matters ask them about these sorts of things, especially if you're the main breadwinner. End of work rant.
I really hope pressure can be put on the hotel group to admit liability and pay for Natalie's bills. Beyond a FB group is there anything we can do to help?

It's not hard, costs nothing, but sticking to principles can go a long way.

Kix started a thread about it the other day, it's terrible. I can't understand why Kempinksi are treating her this way, it's not as if they can't afford it!

Re: Justice for Natalie
Maybe a review on Tripadvisor would help , particularly if it is a reviewer with many reviews already...?

Anyhow I assume this thread was to post a clean thread rather than the other one which just had idiots calling each other names. Which ironically of course I have now steered off course. And more upsettingly added a unique visitor to that blog.

Is that geordiearmani link in your signature your blog, because its still mentioned on it or was there some other promotion you were doing for it?

Re: Justice for Natalie
We need a facebook page and a lot of reviews on booking.com and tripadvisor to make people aware of this as well.

We have to send this out to everyone we know, especially those who use hotels for events and promotions. They are already blocking social media like facebook when people post on their page but they will have trouble blocking booking.com reviews etc, or blogs and emails.

From their facebook page...
This is Natalie's mum. My beautiful daughter is, once again, fighting for her life in intensive care. Her dad and I are having to make the distressing, nightmare journey from the UK to her bedside once again not knowing what condition she will be in when we arrive. Over the last four years since the accident in the Emirates Palace Hotel, we have made this terrifying journey on too many occasions and there is only so much that loving parents can take. We have suffered the worst of the worst - seen things that no parent should ever see. Our lives have been changed for ever and never again will we be blessed with peace of mind or be able to truly relax. For four years we have suffered in silence hoping that decency and justice would prevail. We were encouraged by the fairness and kindness of the team of medical forensic experts who have judged in Natalie's favour and we are sure that the UAE law is also fair and just. However, we have been met by coldness and silence from the Emirates Palace lawyers who have offered no support or offers of help. Natalie now has no medical insurance. What do we have to say to these people for them to accept responsibility and help us? My husband and I would like to send our heartfelt thanks to everyone of you who is supporting Natalie right now - you cannot know how much this means to us. Please tell everyone you know about Natalie's situation. For those of you who don't know her, I can tell you that she is kind, supportive, loving, strong and a wonderful person. Emirates Palace - I beg of you - particularly as Ramadan is approaching - help us get the help Natalie so desperately needs before it is too late.

Re: Justice for Natalie
Has anybody contacted the local press? As she is in Dubai maybe her husband or parents can go to Shk. Mo's office in the Emirates Towers and ask to speak to him. All you have to do is turn up and talk to his people. They will pass all messages on.
I have the contact number somewhere, I will look it up.
