India - Shambles or Paradise

Why is it racist to look what you are????? I look British, I presume you do? What is wrong with looking Muslim?? Many Muslims wear particular clothes, beards, clothes etc to make sure. They are proud to be Muslim, Jewish etc
Many Sikhs wear turbans ---facially they tend to have long features, 'the warriors'--they are proud of it!!!
Are you saying these groups are shameful so we shouldn't mention them--that, sir is racist.
We were speaking of India. Islam came from the North. North India(Karachi is in what is now Pakistan----North) get a map!!
Yes you are right this is a joke.

No you do not look British, you look white. I should not need to remind you, never mind tell you, that it is not possible to determine a persons ethnicity by simply looking at them. I think your problem is that the Indian attitude of casual racism has rubbed off on you. This is the problem in a country where a persons caste determines whether they are sub human or not.

It is often obvious which is which, because they demonstrate it in many ways, they are proud to be which ever they are they want to be distinguished.
Why is this racist (they are all the same race)? Is one inferior to the other because they are different.
I should have said Western, not British. Being "white" is an obsession of the West.
Caste is a tradition centuries old. People were labelled according to their jobs, priest, warrior etc. The names still exist obviously, so original origins are known. It is illegal to discriminate, of course it still goes on in some areas as a sort of class distinction.
The new Prime Minister has a humble background. Is he sub human???
Are all Brahmans priests

When the newspapers/police etc describe some one as "Asian appearance", what are they doing?????

Our family community were, it is thought, originally from Kashmir (in the north), they migrated south after Muslim invasions.
Having ended up in the Goa area (for some reason) they had to migrate again because of the Portuguese inquisition.
And it is pointed out by many, that as a group they tend to be tall and pale skinned and big boned, confirming the origins, not racist a fact.
Dravidian origin far south Indians tend to be darker and shorter is it racist to know they look like this?
Racism is to treat difference as inferior not to know it exists.

"Skincare group Vaseline has introduced a skin-lightening application for Facebook in India, enabling users to make their faces whiter in their profile pictures."
here

"India's unfair obsession with lighter skin"
""You look green!" said a friend. "Are you ill?" asked another. Last year, a respected Indian newspaper published a photograph of me online which had been lightened so drastically by the art director's magic wand that I called the editor to complain and he apologised and replaced it with the original. The art director had thought he was doing me a favour by whitening my skin.
India's obsession with fair skin is well documented: in 1978, Unilever launched Fair & Lovely cream, which has subsequently spawned numerous whitening face cleansers, shower gels and even vaginal washes that claim to lighten the surrounding skin. In 2010, India's whitening-cream market was worth $432m, according to a report by market researchers ACNielsen, and was growing at 18% per year. Last year, Indians reportedly consumed 233 tonnes of skin-whitening products, spending more money on them than on Coca-Cola."

But what about the western obsession with getting a 'tan'. How much money is spent on getting a good tan. Expensive holidays in the sun, sun bathing to get a tan? (Risk of getting a malignant melanoma).
Equally silly isn't it?

I'm guessing you're being intentionally obtuse. I'm talking (as you well know) about JÄtis and specifically Dalits, the untouchables.

It is you who pigeon hole people based on their race/ethnicity and even expand that to their religion. You really need to spend some time in the ME where there is a vast cultural and racial mixing bowl. Then tell us that you can tell someone's religion just by looking at their face, disregarding the obvious outward symbols some religions insist on.
You said British, I simply tried to infer what you meant by that. I personally am completely unable to differentiate between white people from UK, Europe, CIS, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Zimbabwe, etc. They all look the same to me until they talk and even then it's difficult to tell between North Americans and between antipodeans, but they'll soon let you know.

Even our own small community people, can sometimes recognise another unknown individual by looks.
The white people you describe all originate from specific countries in Europe don't they? The original Australians, and Canadians were brownish were they not?????
My mention of white was a different context, I was asked what my family thought of my being white. Of course they know I am white, they are not blind, but see no 'essential human difference'. Just as there is no essential human difference in being of "Asian appearance" as I said above. Or having red hair, or being short !!!!
My remark about looking Jewish resulted from the photo I saw of Claudia Winkleman, she had swept back that awful (in my opinion) fringe, and looked more Jewish and more beautiful (in my opinion). She is Jewish how is it somehow negative to look it????
Dalits became untouchable originally because they cleared excreta and were therefore likely to spread infection. It is obviously inexcusable to continue to discriminate but some people still do. Gov. should have done more.
(The best local caterers in our home area have Dalit names ).

One of my grandsons looks absolutely Indian, and has been described (by a friend!!!) as a "looker", another has fair hair and blue eyes and doesn't look Indian but British. Is that a racist statement. I think you all are at " rock bottom" if I may say so!!!
I am just wasting a great deal of time. This started from "Everbody Indian tells lies", not racist of course!!!!!

On a related subject, i landed in Oz today and was pleasantly surprised to find that a third of the immigration team were recent imports from India. They havent quite rid themselves of V for W yet and did wonder if I was in Bombay international for a while except of course that India wouldnt have a white guy working on immigration.
My taxi driver was an Indian import.
For sure the whole world will shortly be run by Indians so I reckon you bred with the winning team.

Why do the Indians, if they are proud to be Indian, want to look paler and like someone else?
Closet desire to be a white guy ? Or were pale Indians historically a higher caste or from a nicer gographical area of India ? Serious question by the way

I tan by the way because it looks better to be an old fat tanned guy in yellow speedos than it does to be an old fat white guy in yellow speedos
