dont know, I thankfully have never had to stand in that line but what I do know is that if you take a bounced cheque to your bank, they ask you to go to the police station first and get a report / piece of paper etc from them first

Just heard from a colleague today that Qatar civil aviation is cutting back on employee benefits and possibly letting some staff go. Wedge getting thicker maybe, though not sure what this really amounts to, yet.

I heard from a contact that Qatar Rail are reducing overall numbers, temporarily at least, though from those left the construction side is being beefed up.

For me the first sign that there are serious issues is when the recruiters start struggling. From what I can they are not. Scampy might be able to give more details, but for Western Construction personal - I have not seen a slump in recruitment.

Agreed. If the number of enquiries from agents seeking candidates is anything to go by then recruitment is well down, in rail at least. It was buzzing till mid last year, couple of enquiries a week, and now almost zilch.

9th day of the month and 2 already ran away.
One with a banks money and one with other IT companies' lent money.

It was 5 that ran away last month.
Phones not ringing at all. Bad scene..bah, I just have the Monday blues I think :P

Maybe I read to much of the Daily Mail, but when I see English/Irish do that, then I will be concerned. Not fussed about those guys.

Well these are early market indicators in my opinion. WE work on very low profit margins and if the low profit marigin-ers are having trouble staying afloat then that is a worrying sign mate.

I understand that Qatar Rail may be intending to reduce the head-count of their various PMCs who, interestingly, may not be on lump-sum appointments.
