its not just the ones who made a plan to run who are disappearing now, its the poor sods who just couldnt make the rent / credit card payment / school fees etc the whites of the eyes are starting to show juuuuuuuuuust a bit i thought bounced cheques were no longer a 'criminal' offence |

Just heard from a colleague today that Qatar civil aviation is cutting back on employee benefits and possibly letting some staff go. Wedge getting thicker maybe, though not sure what this really amounts to, yet.

For me the first sign that there are serious issues is when the recruiters start struggling. From what I can they are not. Scampy might be able to give more details, but for Western Construction personal - I have not seen a slump in recruitment.

Agreed. If the number of enquiries from agents seeking candidates is anything to go by then recruitment is well down, in rail at least. It was buzzing till mid last year, couple of enquiries a week, and now almost zilch.

9th day of the month and 2 already ran away.
One with a banks money and one with other IT companies' lent money. Knew both of them very well and never had even a hint that they were in trouble. It was 5 that ran away last month. Phones not ringing at all. Bad scene..bah, I just have the Monday blues I think :P |

last month's 5 were all 4 Indians and 1 Pak and this month's 2 are both Indian There is an indication of 1 person from Iraq who might foxtrot oscar soon as well. |

Well these are early market indicators in my opinion. WE work on very low profit margins and if the low profit marigin-ers are having trouble staying afloat then that is a worrying sign mate.
