I believe the home bar is enjoying a rennaissance. Indeed, I was looking at placing one in a redundant corner of my sitting room.

Thanks for the PM winkle-star. It sounds so derogatory to me but is the exact opposite.

The phrase originated in Britain in the late 1980s. I left Britain in 1983...so I had never come across that expression.
