It *is* a one-sided forum, you moron. Nobody gives a tom-tit what you think about the UK. People here aren't seeking balance or half-arsed racist trite - they're looking to move back to the UK and wish to discuss that with others that are moving back to the UK. I don't agree that this is a one-sided forum (thus demonstrating my own point ).

The whole idea of a forum is that it is a place for open discussion, so we shouldn't be closing people down.

There are certainly people who come on this part of the site and deliberately write inflammatory remarks about the U.K. (Wildmark for one). I can't for the life of me understand why they do it. Best response is to simply ignore them.

There are others who come on here with a perspective from "the other side" that is well-put, carefully-deliberated, and thought-provoking (and usually balanced, even if you don't particularly agree with or like their point of view).

I wouldn't want to ban, or bar, or censor the latter type of person from this part of the site because they make me question my own biases or subjectivity.

Like I said, if you don't like them just ignore them. We're treading on dangerous ground if we try to ban someone just because we don't like what they say.

Breezy, you right by the way. But the original poster has a point and is not off his head at all - at least going on what he said in that post which is that all these countries are fine, but the cost of establishment and true quality of family life is very high, too high even for young professionals. It is very noticeable that people who exalt a county's values are often the same who can establish themselves there.

If you have to leave to get what you want, then so be it. I've realised that being economically disenfranchised relative to your countrymen is one of life's greatest poverty. And it's not all about money either. Quality of life and values are important too.

On the whole I agree with you - but this steers towards arguments about 'freedom of speech' which, as I've said on many on occasion - simply do not apply on this forum, because it's a privately run, privately managed website whereby the rules of the administrators is final, not what people perceive they can or can't say under rule of law. The mods have closed down far less controversial threads than this one in this section of the site before and/or banned/warned people who consistently take the piss - I can only assume this nook of the forum has been over-looked. And, for the record, I think that anyone who peddles racist bollocks on this site *should* be banned, but that's just my opinion and as they say, opinions are like arseholes - everyone's got one.
