Point of order. The Britons (also known as Brythons) were a Celtic people group. Therefore you should either remove the subsequent Celts or, better still, say other Celtic groups (or similar).
Changed to 'the rest of the Celts' ... |
Re: What makes Britain Great?
Britons are the people that live in Britain regardless of their origin.

The Britons (from which the name Britain comes) were an Iron-Age Celtic people living in the British Isles who were marginally displaced by the Anglo Saxons. They eventually also settled in France (Brittany). Of course, now Britons is used as an alternative to 'the British' but it really only refers to one of the many cultures who made us what we are now. |

Technically (and I'm sure roaringmouse will pop up to put me right) aren't you referring to the 'British'?

Yes, I would agree - although I would accept the terms modern (day) Britons, contemporary Britons, or even at a push today's Britons for current day inhabitants of Britain.

Catching up on yesterday's conversation about Celts and Britons, I was a bit bemused that the Beaker Folk didn't get an honorable mensh. I like to think that my ancestors were beaker folk.
