I did say they were rubbish.

It's OK, I read of the same withdrawal in the Guardian. For those who don't believe anything in the Guardian it was in the DT, for those who don't believe...........

Hmmm.. indeed. I forget sometimes that's it vital to quote the 'right' newspaper otherwise the story must be a lie.

Also a good tool for checking on the area surrounding any hotel you might be thinking of booking.

Just punch the postcode into the search engine and it will give you an update on the level of crime in that area.

The 'official' crime figures are coming under a lot of scrutiny of late.

The only upside, if there is one, is that I would surmise that unreported crime would be in proportion to recorded crime in most areas.

You are dead right, it seems to be the way it goes on BE, especially if it is the Daily Mail publishing stories. Thus it is wise to look for alternative information providers.

Chris I was trying to find your recent post about the area you are in that has reasonable prices and I cant find it. Scottish borders.........where

Daily Mail, that came through our postbox every morning and was read by my father but I think it merged with a racy newspaper so it may not be the same newspaper.

I'm looking for a good newspaper to read and I think the Guardian maybe worth a try.

Cheers

I am in Herefordshire, a lovely part of the country and very affordable and excellent value for money.

My FIL used to read The Sun every day and amazingly seemed to believe the crap it printed.
