"Amid widespread evidence of fiddling by police forces, the UK Statistics Authority withdrew its stamp of approval from the data"
I did say they were rubbish.

Hmmm.. indeed. I forget sometimes that's it vital to quote the 'right' newspaper otherwise the story must be a lie.

For those of you thinking of moving back and wondering if things have changed in your old area, here is a handy link to Police UK which maps all reported crime in a certain postcode.
Presently there are over 2,300,000 reported victims of crime every year in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. So using this search engine might mean the difference between having a pleasant day out and becoming a statistic.
Also a good tool for checking on the area surrounding any hotel you might be thinking of booking.
Just punch the postcode into the search engine and it will give you an update on the level of crime in that area.

The only upside, if there is one, is that I would surmise that unreported crime would be in proportion to recorded crime in most areas.

Daily Mail, that came through our postbox every morning and was read by my father but I think it merged with a racy newspaper so it may not be the same newspaper.
I'm looking for a good newspaper to read and I think the Guardian maybe worth a try.
Cheers
