Nail.

Head.

Most of us are not quite as nasty as we would at first appear.

Oh yeah.

Nothing makes you tougher than playing hockey with a bunch of 13 year old girls.

And the ganging up stuff has to be experienced to be believed.

Survive that, and the rest of life is easy.

OK, so you're either a woman or a man with a REALLY interesting background.

People often think I'm a man too on here, due to an unfortunate accident with my username.

I went to American public schools. All we cared about was dry humping and smoking the ganja.

I'm amazed how these riots have created such a huge polarisation of opinion - resulting in playground slanging matches. Personally I think there are certainly a few posters in the Barbie and no doubt in other areas of BE that jump on any excuse to introduce an anti-immigration agenda. I for one am grateful for some of these trailer park 'yanks' tackling that head on.

As for the bitch fight - 'nuff already. End it!

That's how it should be. We're more alike than we are different.

Erm, could we just start with some conversation?

I harbour this insane idea that a lot of what I identify as xenophobia (I'm really not trying to be inflammatory here) would be alleviated if those involved could actually converse and manage to see each other as people. Once you know someone, it's really hard to assign all those negative characterizations as a group. This is the origin, I think, of statements of the "I'm not racist, some of my best friends are (fill in the ethnicity of your choice)" etc that some people make. Once you have a conversation, the person becomes a human being to you and the assumptions and generalizations have to stop. Then it's possible to separate behaviour from things that have nothing whatsoever to do with it, such as melanin levels in the skin or culture of origin.
