[QUOTE=Beedubya;9885160]Oh I know what you mean Sally, though of course you only socialise if you want to, most of the residents are women (we live longer!!) and they like the security
Does that mean the gentlemen wont be safe???

You pay them, I think it's 20 quid for the first 2 hours and they will do home handyman stuff like putting up curtain rails, putting together flat pack furniture, just those little odd jobs you need doing but can't necessarily yourself.
They also provide another type service (not sure of the cost) where they will come in and do a bit of washing or shopping but no nursing or caring type stuff.

Well I'll say Hi.
You might have read, we go home in about 3 weeks!
Just waiting on our British passports...and the $$ to come through so we can buy our tickets.
Very exciting to finally have dates, and everything else coming together...we will have masses to sort out on our return, but we will be HOME!
I'll post more I think, as things get organized and we sort out schools/ jobs etc...
Hope you have a lovely W/end, and that your Mum continues to do well.

And just as your online name says ----- Gabgoeshome
Now you really do seem to have a lot to do before you can leave though, how far are you along with all your sorting and chucking and donating, most of us have to go through a mountain of stuff that we have accumulated for many decades, it is indeed the hardest part, and it does take quite a long time to fully accomplish the Job, it took me about 6 months, ----- but I did clear my garage out completely in one day from 7am to 5pm right in the middle of the hot hot Las Vegas summer, Phew!!!!
Take care and good luck, it really is a wonderful feeling isn't it knowing that you are really going HOME,
Rodney.
