I knew I should have just flown on my Australian passport and then applied for a UK one when I got there, but I figured that would only cause more problems and delays so opted for the more LOGICAL option and see where that got me.. LOL

Can you not fly on your Australian passport now? Like, right now?

No, because I sent it along with my UK passport application along with my US permanent resident card :( They wanted as much documentation as possible, so STUPID ME thought my passport and residency card showed that I was born in the UK and both had photo's to compare with the ones I sent with the application and I THOUGHT it would help to prove my identity and status as a British Subject, and I read on the application notes that ORIGINAL documents were required. That's what I get for thinking !!!!!!!!!!

The only reason I didn't fly out on my Australian passport two months ago, was because I thought it would make things difficult to open a bank account and to get a job etc etc and I didn't want to have to delay with any of those things while I waited for a UK passport.

Once again........that's what I get for thinking!!

I know !:thumbsup: I just wish there weren't that damn little demon on my shoulder that keeps whispering to me 'you're not meant to go, see - even your passport won't come to you - face it, you're stuck here'.:rofl: So of course I promptly reach up and beat the living daylights out of the little bugger and carry on !!!!!!!

I think this is Mother Nature's way of getting me to wait a little until the weather clears up for my arrival so I won't end up traipsing up a country lane covered in snow with two suitcases. LOL

Just because it's not happening as quickly or easily as you'd like doesn't mean you're meant to be stuck here. Stuff and nonsense!!! Of course you're meant to go. If you want to go, you're meant to go.

Sorry to hear that your passport has still not arrived. Can you still go with plan A and use you Oz passport and have your roomies forward your UK passport, if it doesn't arrive before you leave?

I did that too, until I realised I was responding to something that someone had already commented on or answered and then I felt like a right twit..:rofl: So I got in the habit of reading the previous posts just in case.

So now they've taken more details from me as to the conversation I had with the examiner back at the beginning of March and they're going to do an investigation to find out why it's taking so long, and they're going to get the examiner to contact me and explain why.
So as it's now Wednesday April 3rd, I seriously doubt I'm going to get my passport back in time to fly out on the 9th, so looks like I'm going to have to delay my departure until the 16th. :(

I could just cry ! Or hit something !!! LOL

So sorry to hear that, hope they get it sorted out soon :fingerscrossed:
