There is an ancient old remedy that you can buy in pharmacies in Cape Town SA which is called "rescue remedy" little white pills which you put under your tongue and they calm you down. They are based on flowers or something but not drugs of any sort so do not affect the body just a calming effect. Can you get those over there? They are sold over the counter. I remember when I left Cape Town for UK and I had to find a home for my dogs and leave my job and family and I was a mess, kept blubbering all the time even though I had instigated the move! These little pills kept me sane!
I'd rather take something natural for stress though I suppose wine could be considered a natural remedy for stress?! Maybe??!!! ;) |

MsB draw some comfort knowing that those of us who are also extremely stressed about big decisions get a lot of peace from reading your posts :D I suggest keep trawling YouTube for some good comedy. I know you posted Al Murray who has been invaluable to me in the last few weeks when I have been tearing my own hair out, I still have mine though not so sure after all this decision making by this time next year :))
Anyhow you probably have already seen or heard of her but if not this comedian is one of my favs at the moment: http://youtu.be/B-uwhLHxT0A There are lots of clips and even an Australian one ☺ Sorry to hear about your car. Tell ‘Herbie’ to get his act together. And if nothing else have a good laugh at the irony of my situation:rofl: All that west country accent practice not much call for it in So. CA !! I'm glad my posts help people as a lot of people's posts on here really helped me when I was struggling with my decision. Hope you get things sorted soon, I didn't comment too much on your recent post as I don't have kids and its not something I feel I can really comment on as I have no idea what it must be like for you. You have my sympathy though, what an awful dilemma and I hope you get some answers and peace of mind soon. I did chuckle at the Herbie comment as the tyre guy said to me yesterday "Its because your car is a Herbie and doesn't want you to go overseas without him!" I said jokingly "Well actually its a she, her name is Bettie the Beetle and she knows she can't come with me cos we've talked about it!" and laughed. He looked a bit bemused and after the tyre was fixed I went to pay the bill and I overheard him saying to his mate "Did you hear what she said about her Beetle? Why are the pretty girls always a bit crazy?" I didn't know whether to be offended or flattered ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!   |

Making such a big change in life is very stressful. Last year I cried every day for 4 months, and now to-day I have another blow. My pacemaker was tested and shows that I am at high risk of having a stroke. Since it was checked last September, 6% of the time has been of dangerous episodes. I hope now they will understand why I've been pressuring to see a cardiologist. :(

I just feel so cross that a week ago I had saved a bit more money and had nothing on my credit card now I have $900 on it and still have more to pay out - grrrrrrrrr! Car stuff always irritates me beyond belief, having to keep going to the mechanics/tyre place etc and sit in a poky office somewhere being patronised and then ripped off and knowing I can't do anything about it. I'm really looking forward to my mate coming over, she was very upset when I moved here and she's excited I'm moving home. We already have a few things planned for when I'm back, we've had many adventures together and our conversations are always "OMG do you remember when..................!!!" I love that feeling of familiarity, shared history and friends. We went running with the bulls in Pamps a few years ago, we used to go shopping in NYC once a year and I've lost count of the nights we've danced our butts off, done shots and shared a good laugh over a greasy fry up in the morning!!!! Right now I think I am just feeling the strain. I'm a really feminine woman and off duty I'm always in a frock and make up but I've never been an airhead. I'm more than capable of painting a wall, taking charge of an accident scene, travelling the world alone and maintaining my own car. I'm not asking for the sun, the moon and the stars but all I want right now is for someone to say to me "Ok, lets drop the car off Weds to be fixed, I'll bring you home, you put your feet up and relax and I'll make you a cuppa. once its done I'll take you down to pick it up ok?" thats it. Instead its going to be me taking the car in, walking a couple of kms in the rain into town (no buses, taxis too expensive) wasting the whole day wandering aimlessly around the dreary shopping centre full of kids (school hols here) then walking all the way back sweating and cursing to part with $420 of my hard earned money and it really gives me the shits!!!! Wish I could just call you up and say ""Ok, lets drop the car off Weds to be fixed, I'll bring you home, you put your feet up and relax and I'll make you a cuppa. once its done I'll take you down to pick it up ok?" Anything to bring that smile back to your face and make you feel more like your old self again. But don't worry...get the car business out the way and just look on it as Australia's way of saying goodbye.. |

No news yet !! :( I did a web chat this morning because I couldn't be bothered waiting until Wednesday when it's officially 7 WEEKS since they started processing it. But the lady I talked to said there is no news yet and has put through my contact information for one of the examiners to call me within 24 hours. She marked it as URGENT ! Too bloody right it's urgent... So hopefully an examiner will call me tomorrow to try to explain why the hell it's taking so long. I mean, how long does it take to type a name into a computer to see if they have or have not had a passport in the past????:rofl: Obviously 5 weeks by the sound of it..so they either type VERY slow or else this is all done via snail mail.:eek: I could just cry !!!!

Its getting ridiculous sorry to hear about this. Of course is WhoFan a reference to Dr. Who or Roger Daltry? Both should be certifiable grounds for denying you entry :rofl: except of course for this song: http://youtu.be/SHhrZgojY1Q
