The odd documentary perhaps, fair enough, but every friggin' drama, or so it seems. Enough it's entertainment, no more, no less.
During our last trip to the UK we noticed 'warning, the following may contain flash photography' during several TV programs.

Maybe. Can't say I've seen on US TV, where covering your a$$ against lawsuits is a way of life. Though I haven't watched US TV, except via Netflix, for years.

I just find it a bit of a nanny state mentality, that you have to be offered counseling after, what seems like, every darn programme.

New Comedy - UNCLE on BBC. Two episodes so far. I'm liking it, but remains to be seen whether it can sustain itself beyond one season.

North American TV is full of disclaimers. Especially those advertising prescription drugs. They sound so bloody dangerous you wonder why they'd want to advertise them and frighten people away from using them.

"Ask your doctor about (prescription drug)....(drug) can be habit-forming. ...you may experience symptoms such as rash, difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, irritability, hyperactivity, and unusual changes in your personality or behavior....may also cause serious heart problems or sudden death.......You may experience depression and extreme tiredness if you suddenly stop taking (drug) after using it..."

At least death is sudden.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but The Bletchley Circle makes a nice change from high intensity crime drama. Currently showing season 2 on bbc iplayer. Season 1 is on Netflix.

I am quite enjoying that too. The other one I am enjoying is Father Brown. Sort of Midsomer Murders meets the village priest. I just Love Sorcha Cusack's portrayal of the parish secretary, she makes me laugh usually more than once each episode.

'Stella' - Ruth Jones is such a talent. The scenery, when the sky is blue, is stunning,

Talking about scenery, again when the sky is blue, 'Cornwall with Caroline Quentin'. The programme is a bit slow and dull, but I spend most of the time wishing I was in the shoes of some of the characters in the programme. Pure escapism for me.

Trotty, Bletchley Circle is playing on ITV player so you should be fine with ex-pat shield. Apparently there is a plug-in for Firefox and Chrome called Mediahint that will allow you to watch the BBC iPlayer. It has been discussed in the past on the USA forum. Never used it myself but worth investigating.

In Florida trotty. And I use a VPN, which costs me $6.95 a month. But not having cable tv anymore, it's well worth it. Hope you find some way to watch it. It's wonderful to have a series with so many good strong female characters

This is because flashes on the screen can affect people with photo sensitive epilepsy, and may trigger an attack. You will see it during news reports where photographers are trying to get photos for thier papers, like in high profile trials outside the courtroom.

I know...but it seems a little OTT.
