Bloody cheek! I'm not bitter, and I'm a long way past 40 something. I
shall be sorry I defended you to MadFan if you persist in this scandalous
libel!

The point being made, which is not trivial, but has been ignored in
each reply, was that Hampton Court is more easily accessible by public
transport than by car. Fustanella's previous posts made it quite
clear he was going to hire a car from Easy Car to go outside of
London. My point was that this place is not outside London, although
he had included it in his 'cluster' of ;outside' destinations.
To point out that it's a local train, and not a tube is fair enough.
Especially when crossposting from a tourist group, as you almost
indicated. To point out that it's a local train three times (four if
you include your post) without any information as to whether it's
'easily accessible' from London or not, is not fair enough.
While the first reply was useful, pointless repeptition without adding
any useful information borders on netkopping, and tends to invite
sarcasm.

Lol, okay, Peter, but I do still maintain that he is bitterly
fourteen-something..... and thank you for the defence the other week,
although I was somewhat guilty of provoking him, I fear.

They're displayed publicly at all overground connecting stations which
serve the local train network, here.

Apologies.
He's on top of this, actually. I suggested he hire from the Kingston
Branch (convenient for heading west), and he decided it makes sense to
combine that with the Hampton Court adventure. So he's only driving the
last two miles, then on to Bath (or whereever).

You'll get little disagreement there. In fact, there's hardly anywhere
in the Greater London area that isn't easier to access by transport
than buy car.

I think mayhap the thread had drifted down far enough that
Fustanella's comments were lost and yours had to stand on their own.
Loss of original context is a pretty common problem in Usenet.

I am then guilty of your own sin, assuming it would be understood by
all that train from Waterloo Station *means* easily acessible.
>While the first reply was useful, pointless repeptition without adding
>any useful information borders on netkopping, and tends to invite

You assume that anyone who has posted a comment has already had access
to others making similar comments and is therefore being a repetitious
dold. It is not necessarily true, due to the way Usenet propagates
messages. If having several people give you the same info is something
you find irritating enough to be sarcastic about it I'm afraid you are
going to be expressing a lot of sarcasm on Usenet.
