Why SHOULD they be so exposed? They've paid for their
seats, too, and have a right to expect a reasonably quiet
journey. Even very small children can be taught to behave
reasonably well in public, and intelligent parents make
provisions for keeping their children amused without
disturbing fellow passengers unduly. Not everyone finds the
human young irresistible - especially those whose doting
parents think their offspring can do no wrong!

Nothing's happened to me. Since when did you become a lecturing
busybody? Or were your posts in this thread ironic?

I think that your posts are often quite amusing when you don't intend them
to be.

Erm, Those big things on either wing (or right at the back on some odd
planes) make a hell of a lot of racket, so where's this reasonably
quiet journey on a plane?
If you don't want to travel with other passengers, get a private
plane.

Babies don't fit the seats or belts. I.m.e. you get given small harness
that fits the baby and clips to the adult's seatbelt.

It's up to the parents really.
Do you think the child will be at less risk in a year's time?
Forgive me if I perceive a flaw in your tolerance.

Considering you can't complete the booking online, what other options do
you think you actually have?

They have the /right/ to a seat. Nothing more, nothing less.
If they want to be reasonably certain of having a /peaceful/ flight then
they should go first class (not business as they are normally the worst of
all).

I wouldn't bother with online for a unusual situation, you need to

I think you have to bite the bullet, no external party can guess the
(possibly illogical and contrary to thier own rulebook) response you
will get from the *only* people whose opinion matters when you walk up
to check in.
