The south east coast doesn't have any nice beaches. The north east coast has
sandy beaches and is OK outside the UK holiday period.

I find the Peleponnesos, better than either Crete or Rhodes.

Mind you, I just recorded some ragas, impressed? You shouldn't be, I'm
just copying my vinyl to MP3 for the iThingy. We bought an iStation
for it, neat fold up Hi Fi for traveling. Where was i?

Another vote for Peleponnesos, especially as our house there is now
habitable (no thanks to the plumber who thought it was a good idea for
the toilets to flush onto the patio.)

Predominantly not so rich, or invaders.

I never understood why in May the islands were full of topless Scandinavian
women travelling in pairs or alone, but no sign of any Scandinavian men.

I never understood why nobody spread the word, when I was single.

No.
I'm simply not used of almost every road lined with empty plastic bottles,
plastic bags, old fridges and whatnot.

That's probably trash being put out for collection, which occurs - in
Athens anyway - several times a week, unlike here (NL, once a week) or
UK (some areas once every two weeks).

Organic and inorganic are collected in alternate weeks in the Leiden area.

In Greece I have seen northern Europeans collecting PEP bottles to take home for
the 25cent deposit. The PEP bottles and other rubbish were mainly thrown away by
French and Italian camper van driving tourists as far as I could see.

There are other places in Europe where you could get used to this sort of thing.
