The drop in the number of posts is probably directly attributable to Mixi going
MIA on a secret MS Flight Simulator action to bomb the red necks back into the
dark ages. Having downloaded the demo version, it's also possible that he died
of boredom, whilst at the controls.

I've been to the UK, in fact studied there for a year and spent one short
holiday there almost every year since then. It is /much/ cleaner.
Ditto for the few times I've been to France (Paris, Nice, Corsica).
I'll see Portugal this year.

A lot depends on which part of which country you visit.
The parts of Greece that we have visited are cleaner than the part of Holland we
live in. Most of the rubbish we have seen in Greece is dumped by tourists.
Probably some of it by our locals.

Well, I have to say that your experienc doesn't match mine. I suggest
you take a walk round Aberdeen on trash collection day and see if your
opinion changes after seeing what the seagulls do to trash bags.

It might depend where you are, but at least in Manchester, I find the
state of rubbish on the streets appalling. Most cities in Europe I visit
are cleaner. It's laziness on the part of the local government, most of
whom live in tidy suburbs. Part of the problem is that a lot of people
are messy pigs, and on the rare occasion that they get fined for
littering, complain that the police ought to have better things to do.
Which is true of course, but they don't get the irony.

I don't get you. So every time you complain about the laziness of
Italians, I should just tell you to tell them?

No, I will tell them without your prompting. Do you point out to your
local folk when they leave a mess somewhere?
