I am American! And a scientist. Sea rise levels have
nothing to do with Chirac!

Wikipedia science is pretty good and the reference the source

Make credence recognised that on 17 Mar 2007 14:07:14 -0700,
"InTheNorthLand" <[email protected]> has scripted:

With that type of reasoning, I'll exit at this point.

I'm still waiting for any evidence that global warming isn't happening
to counteract the large amount that says it is.

You guys seem to think it can't be true if the president doesn't
endorse it.

Use "OT:" in subjects for this crap.

The old part reads fine but anything 100 years
old or less is redundant.

Use "OT:" in subjects for this crap, or remove all non-political

And, of course, the glaciers aren't melting nor is Artic ice vastly reduced
in size. I too get annoyed by global warming enthusiasts especially when
they combine their claims with anti-nuclear power protests but don't please
try and kid yourself: global warming is happening and, to put it at its
mildest, man's activities since he decided to turn the great forests of
Europe into charcoal have helped that warming.

Don't kid yourself, global warming happened!
Now the cool down in starting. Whether it will
be 20 years or 100 years, it is coming.

Wrong again two things have contributed greatly to the the high
CO2 levels in the atmosphere and it is not so called fossil fuels. The
world wide burning of the forests and the coverage of so much of the
soil with masonry, concrete and tar. Green plants take in CO2 and
emit
oxygen.

Befuddled Gore keeps blathering about
how the oceans are being heated by
global warming, instead of the warming
being created by the oceans, as the facts
clearly show.

I am struck by the remarkable liberties Gore took to ?create a
scientific, historical, and political mythology.

Don't kid yourself, global warming happened!
Now the cool down in starting.

So that's why the glaciers are now melting at an increasing pace and the
Artic ice is reducing. Because the earth is getting colder - hmmn!

Whether it will
be 20 years or 100 years, it is coming.

I agree. Cooling always follows warming. I just don't think it's
happening now

and, to put it at its
> mildest, man's activities since he decided to turn the great forests of
> Europe into charcoal have helped that warming.

Wrong again

Huh!

- two things have contributed greatly to the the high
CO2 levels in the atmosphere and it is not so called fossil fuels. The
world wide burning of the forests

You're in such a hurry that you failed to read what I posted. Why did man
burn forests? To produce charcoal . Where did I mention fossil fuels?
Nowhere!

and the coverage of so much of the
soil with masonry, concrete and tar. Green plants take in CO2 and
emit
oxygen.

You haven't quoted any sources for these 'facts'. Please do so

I am struck by the remarkable liberties Gore took to ?create a
scientific, historical, and political mythology.

There have been little industrial use of charcoal since WW II except
in the distillation of methyl hydrate and that is now obsolete

My word you're a bloody fool. Man turned those forests into charcoal when
iron began to be manufactured in bulk. When was that? Over a thousand
years ago. Man has altered the world considerably in the last 10,000 years
since he ceased to be a hunter gatherer. The 20th century merely
accelerated the harm he has caused to the world's environment.
