Great Mexican food in Scotland? Who'd've thunk it?

Cool!

Why can't we get Cerole seasoning in NZ??!! Cr*p

I've found home made Mexican foods taste much nicer. well......Mexican food isn't for me..... however I enjoy making decent Jambalaya, Burritos, Enchiladas, Nachos and Tacos etc now and then

lol made Beef Enchiladas with salads for tea yesterday. it was awesome. (just tried one bite~)

We've been to a Mexcan cafe on Cuba St in 2006 - don't remember what's called. I reluctantly agreed to go there :curse: .... (couldn't refuse...) as Paul wanted to have Mexican and try something new. sorry it was hoooooooooorrible! just ended up drinking Corona

While we traveled the States, had some fantastic Mexican dishes (El Coyote Cafe) in LA. far better than Edinburgh.

Some of the worst Mexican I've had, apart from here, was in the States actually, none as good as Viva Mexico or Tijuana Yacht Club (sadly shut down now) back in Edinburgh

Maybe I'll open my own restaurant here

I miss the chinese curry powder you used to get in my local butchers. It came in a 2 pint packet and was made by Youngs.............
I can live without it but that's what I miss most.

Choice! I long for more choice and more variety of foods. Different types of supermarkets and more European foods. Decent bread which is like French bread - all crusty on the outside and tasty inside. Real Italian cappuccino -not the heavy milky type with sour-tasting coffee which is the order of the day in many cafes here. Good, mature cheese which is not overly expensive, tasty cakes with marizipan and royal icing which are not poplar here. Chocolate gingers which taste fresh and newly made, not stale and discoloured. M & S and their exciting new ideas for meals.

Basically, I miss all that European food offers. Would also like to see good Mexican foods as well.

hey thanks a lot, however I already know how to make Creole seasoning. so I actually don't need to buy the stuff. BUt if I can get original Louisiana Creole seasoning here, it would be great otherwise I make the mixture - No problem I am good.

We went back for a holiday about a year ago. Was greatly looking forward to reuniting myself with various tastes.

Must admit the anticipation was better than the actual experience. In some ways the general convenience and range of buying from M&S or Tesco Express was the highlight.

I know. I am patiently waiting for him to open a branch down this neck of the woods or to figure out how to mail the stuff to us.

Would love a blummin' good sausage, some unsmoked rashers - bliss, or a heavenly gammon joint.

edit .. and a proper pork pie.

edit again.. and wot about some quality sausage meat so I can make some decent scotch eggs.
