Just booked for 2 adults, Wellington - Sydney - HongKong for refuelling - London - Newcastle. $6,426, all flights and taxes (not depature tax from NZ - $25 x 2) inc, travel ins of $377. From the Flight Centre, they say they will match any price quoted.

Has anyone been to Sydney airport, we'll have about 6 hrs there.

Damn site bigger than Wellington airport. Lots of shops, free internet stations etc but its still an airport so dont expect parties and dancing girls!

I flew there from WLG 2 weeks ago and it took 25 minutes from landing to parking at the gate, its a long drive! I recon the distance form the far runway to the terminal is equivelent from Wellington CBD to the airport.

It's such a long wait before such a long flight. I'll have to go on the internet -log on to BE to pass the time. Don't want to nod off, plenty of time for that on the flight.

I'm travelling home to the UK this June/July for four and half weeks, by that time it will be nearly four years since leaving. I am going with my 5th child (youngest) and leaving my husband at home to mind the fort!

I made the decision to do this at Christmas and we have stuck the expense on the mortgage.

I'm hoping the air miles accrued will help my husband to have his turn.

Flight Centre did us a goodish deal at $5013.00 inclusive of everything. (One adult and one 5 year old).

Southern Cross were excellent with their travel insurance cost of $218.00 for the two of us, by far the cheapest. (Although we are members which helps).

It will be VERY intresting to see Ol' Blighty again and see if its as bad as some of the postings have described.

Really getting excited now, can't wait to see my family again, and Plymouth, how I miss Plymouth........ the Hoe the clotted cream, the Plymouthian accent, Saltram House, Dartmoor............. I could go on, but won't bore you all.
