That's not nice.... That's what we are reduced to now. Community support officers patrol the streets and the Highways Agency patrol the Motorways it's a cheaper way to fly the flag. When trouble breaks out they radio in for support ,hence the concerns of the UK public, by the time they radio back and a massively stretched real police officer arrives the problem is well gone or too late. Our police station, like a lot of others in smaller towns or rural areas has been shut down and replaced by a Community Support office.

Oh I dont know, even in the small towns I know there are full time police officers and stations.
Have NEVER had an issue with the level of policing here in NZ

It is a real time problem especially for rural living people that are targets for low living 'townies'. The levels of 'reported' crime falls as there is no point in phoning in as all you will achieve is a civilian station worker issuing you with a 'crime number' and 'phone us if it happens again..........
