Re: A380
Was he one of those kids that used to take things apart, put them back together again & then found a part he'd forgotten to put back . That was one of my brother's 'talents'. He could never be bothered to open the thing back up again and insert missing part . He used to put the now useless item in the back of the garage, out of the way.
Years later, Dad cleared the garage out & couldn't understand why there were so many broken radios, cassette players etc. in there. By that time, darling brother had left home & joined the merchant navy. Thank god he never went into designing owt like my Dad
Not sure I'd want to get on an A380 until they've sorted these cracks out.

Do you think EASA or the CAA would risk any possible "incidents" to the A380? Just think of the litigation! If there was a real immediate problem they would be grounded!

My husband also makes parts for the A380 (not the wings though), and there's more problems looming too, and not just with the wings - think the whole thing was rushed through without sufficient testing on the 'new' carbon fibre design.

Boeing are having their problems too, the "plastic pig" aka the 787 has been bedeviled by delays, BA are introducing both models to their fleet soon!
