Firstly let me assure you that I would never live in any country that required me to wear anything based on a religious law. As a tourist I would dress as requested, but I would take this into account before going to that country and if I regarded it as too extreme I wouldn't go. I hope that answers your question

Where did you go to Uni ?

Are you saying you agree with some women being forced to do this?

I agree with you that all education should be secular. However, rather than banning religious education from schools, I think the basics beliefs behind ALL the major religions should be taught. Like it or not, religion is a major part of many people's lives throughout the world and I think it is useful to have some understanding of what these beliefs are.

Religious education is often based on a religious schools faith. World Religion as part of a social studies course is educational.
What people choose to do out of school is their choice, but what goes on in school should be about an education.
Time spent (I went to a Catholic school until I was 7) going to mass at the start of the school day, prayers at the end of the day, grace at lunch, making posters for various missionary activities, confession during school time, etc was a complete waste of time and had nothing to do with education and everything to do with indoctrination, elitism and bigotry. Just MO.

Hearing that a large proportion of students in British universities now reject the theory of evolution appals me.

We have allowed people to come to Britain without any requirement to learn the language or adapt to the native culture. The first wave of immigrants from the West Indies, Uganda and India faced a lot of racism but the desire to integrate was there. In our attempts to combat racism the balance tipped in a way which was hard to foresee.

so there is one labour supporter!!

lmao

I have an Australian and British passport and so do many of here. Even though they lived in Australia for years and even those who live there, how many of them think of themselves as Australian, many still think of themselves still as British. Correct? So lets say one of us blew up an Australian plane full of whoever, do you think they would call us Australian scum or British Scum? Holding a passport does not make us that Nationality of that country, its what we think we are that counts. Many on here have slagged off the Australians, Canadians, Americans, yet they are themselves living in that country, and yet they are rude and insultive about the people of that country. You only have to read these boards to see it.<<snip>>
Hmm... So how do you think immigration staff ascertain one's nationality at a Point of Entry? What do you suggest as proof nationality?
