I felt i was trying to get involved and you shot me down (i also take note that it could have been my interpretation of the situation and maybe being a little sensitive).:)

well I am sorry if I upset you, that certainly wasn't my intention.

Please dont take it as personal, it could have been anyone.....:) I think this forum will always remain a heated and volitile area, alot of women post here!! lol .... I havnt asked the question of "why people post who are happy in oz" to upset people, but really out interest, and like geordie george says , not everyone going back to uk dislikes oz! which i hadnt thought of!

I certainly dont hate oz, I dislike some aspects of it, but only like I dislike aspects of UK, but sometimes its nice to vent out with likeminded people, it seems when people do this, the lot who like oz jump to australias defense.

I read this part of the forum prior to coming out and whilst I was "content" here, but never posted, because I felt that I couldnt truly add anything useful to these peoples sitution...

:)

I want to go home first and foremost because I've just had enough of missing my family and my very best friend of 33 years. I would also like to see more of Europe and have some decent holidays with my husband now our son has grown up. I want to now spend some real quality time with my family, not just a fleeting 4 weeks every few years. I can't go home yet as our son is still at uni, so I am waiting for him to graduate. When he does, he says he wants to go home, so we'll take it from there. I won't be going because I hate Australia.

As it stands now, he has until middle of next year, but if he takes on any more units, then your guess is as good as mine.

I think many of us feel and have said the same Mandy. Weather, big houses, pools/spas and beaches mean nothing to me anymore.

I think you need to start living for yourself and hes pratically a man now, couldnt you go back and he rent somewhere here for a while? I know if L really wants to come back next year shes gonna have to work and stand on her own two feet, if you really want to go back you should.;)

I do understand what you're saying Kath, but we promised that if he went to uni here and not in the UK, which is where he wanted to go, we would support him, so that's what we're doing. It would have cost 3 times as much for him to attend uni back home, so we thought we were the winners. I of course had no idea my brothers reversal would result in us now having a new niece & nephew (twins) and, my elder niece now having 2 babies. She was a single career girl when we left England. So, I feel I am missing out on so much.

I've heard Qld is utterly boring as well - and that many people want to get out of there as they do from Perth. I see your dilemma Tracy, but you have been sooooooooooooo pissed off with Perth (just as I have) - if it were me, I'd get the hell out and just cross the bridges when you come to them. Whatever you do, I'm sure it will be the right decision. We've only got 8 weeks to go - I'm counting down! Does anyone want to buy a catering business in Cottesloe? Or know of anyone that might??

Oh crikey Beryl, I didn't realise you had a date to go home. Lucky you, especially this time of the year. I know someone who might be interested, but they have their eye on something at the mo, although if you can PM or email me with more info, I can pass it on.

You are such a "glass half full woman" " Surely friends are supposed to be understanding, sympathetic and caring to each others needs. Certainly not judgemental and so accusing.

I am not asking you to apologise. Especially not about being happy in Oz. I am happy for you that you have found 'your place' in this world. But perhaps, in future, you will have a little more understanding and tolerance for those of us that haven't.

I think we are going to have to agree to disagree.

I am never going to truly understand how you feel, as you cannot understand how I feel. I am sure you have enough people around you telling you are doing the right thing that what ever I post on a forum should not make the siltiest (sp) bit of difference.

I sincerely hope you find a place where you can be truly happy.

I have in the past expressed my opinion yes but unlike some folk around here never insult anyone personally or at least I don't think I have.
