well, I always struggle/don't like to give advice on packages - that is something that is entirely up to yourself and your situation. Roughly though, take your net UK salary and then this is what you are aiming for as a total package; including salary, housing allowance, flights home etc. In the UK, you have rent/mortgage to pay out of salary, so always best to compare like with like IMHO. For property, there are loads of places to look for apartments with some specialising in particular areas. As has been mentioned, JBR & Marina areas are handy for Internet City, as is Palm Jumeirah which you mention. I'm sure if you look about you would prob even get a 2-bed apartment you could afford in these areas rather than just the 1 bed. Best bet is to just get here and see what you like; its good to have an idea of the prices for rent etc, but you may not like things when you see them. Same with cars - a small sporty car may not be top of your list when you see how insance some of the drivers here are! We certainly changed our mind when we got here!!
