Re: Who is from Yorkshire?
I'm guessing that you are living on the east coast, we can get things like that but only in specialist British stores not in supermarkets...

Fiesta. The one in Katy has the best selection I've seen so far, the new Sugar Land one is pretty good too.

Ooh, may have to pop down and check it out then. It all seems to be stuff in Kroger I wouldn't eat at home so shy buy at at inflated prices here though! Did see they had mint sauce though when I looked last time so that has to be good, brought some back with me this time so OK for now

I've yet to move so i'm enjoying introducing the other half to Yorkshire food and places and he is trying in return to widen my tastes (and waist band i think!) to USA foods.
On this visit I made him toad in the hole with hendos. USA sausages were a bit different to home but do-able. Bless him he thought I said 'turd in the hole' which did make me chuckle!

Turd in the hole probably makes more sense. Full marks for using Hendos

Anyone else a fan of the old Richard Gere/Vanessa Redgrave movie, "Yanks"? Just found an unopened copy at a yard sale and can't wait to watch it!

Born and raised in Leeds, spent a small amount of my childhood in Wakey then spent the last year in York - now living on the East Coast. Sadly, not Maine where I could have moved to Yorkshire, York, Scarborough etc and been able to say "I've only ever lived in Yorkshire".

My OH complained the whole time we lived in the UK that the food was bland yet if there's a suggestion of Yorkshire puds or shepherds pie, he'll bite my hand off to get at it. Silly Americans.

I'm pretty sure my OH said the same thing when I mentioned toad in the hole actually. Trying to find proper sausages over here is like trying to find unicorns. It is possible though - a nearby Irish pub does real bangers and mash so where are they getting them from?!
