Yup, that would be true, you'd have to be big time hunters to enjoy shooting giraffes.

I suppose only according to those that disagree with it. I'll revert back to AC's post.

Maybe.
I've been thinking a lot about this thread actually, and whilst the picture in the op doesn't digust me - I wouldn't shoot a giraffe (I actually can't shoot anything yet but thats by the by).

I see. I just can't get how the pic doesn't disgust you or anyone for that matter.
A dead hunted animal is a dead hunted animal (that sounds very harsh but it's true). And as I said above it totally makes me a hypocrite to say i'd shoot one thing and not another (based on the "a dead hunted animal is a dead hunted animal" statement. But I have no rhyme or reason as to why I think that way. And don't get me wrong - I am NOT trying to make anyone see my point of view - i'm just giving it as an equal and opposite reaction to the op. |
Re: Words fail me!
I think it's weird not to feel weird about it too. A Giraffe isn't an ordinary or traditional kind of kill, that just feels wrong and one has to go out of their way (and pay $10K) to even kill it. Like harpooning a dolphin and grinning over its lifeless body for a family portrait. Sick.

We get it, you and Dollface dont approve... Most (all?) of us think it weird, but its a free country I guess. Saying the same thing over and over doesnt change that. |

I think killing polar bears is horrendous, they're endangered! What's a free country? There's no such thing. In Britain they banned fox hunting. Why? Because most people (the ones who have no idea what its like to live in the country and haven't been brought up with that pastime) thought it was barbaric even though it had been a tradition for some others for generations. If it's ok to hunt Giraffes why not fox hunting? Where's the freedom for "each to their own" in that case? |
