Are you insinuating that they are Helicobacter pylori?? I'd say that would require penicillin needles at ten paces my good man!!

I have to disagree with you on us being greedy little animals that won't do anything to save our world... China, for example, is leading the world in environmentally friendly initiatives... Take for instance the Tiananmen Square massacre, they murdered about 20,000 or so of those carbon polluting greedy little animals. And look at the US. If you were to curb guns... A single bullet produces only a milli fraction of carbon pollution compared to the 16,000 plus murdered by them. How can you be so negative on these world powers and their attempts to reduce their carbon foot prints?

I note your optimistic views on the ability of states to reduce their carbon footprint by obliterating sections of their populations. Sadly however, they're simply not doing enough. If states really wanted to make an impact, a few nukes targeted on major cities could do that but the will simply isn't there.
Ok. Now you've gone an done it. I was going to avoid economics and economies of scale so as to not to bore the readers to death (so to speak)...
To (loosely, prpobably not at all) quote osama been drinkin: Oh what I could do with a few Kgs of enriched uranium and a bit o TNT...

When I have a buzz on I stay indoors, because I shine so brightly the sun burns even hotter trying to compete.

We try not to turn our heat on in winter, that might help. Its electric baseboard heaters. (this place is so well insulated, and they keep the hallway so warm and there is a gap on the bottom of the door that lets the warm hallway air rush into the unit, walk over to the door and feels like a warm fan is blowing, and even into low negative temps last year we were staying 68F roughly so basically never turned the heat on.)
We are cooking more on the stove this week, so natural gas use is up a little, but can't control much there, gotta eat lol

It's a problem when people over react and jump at the next fad. Solar is great but Australia was a text book case of how not to introduce it. Most of the installations I examined I found that the return on investment would occur around the time the system would need to be replaced.
To be effective it needs strong legislation based upon intelligent thought. I did a study on solar in Queensland and looked at economy of scale and how it along with legislation could impact on energy needs. In the end it was clear it wouldn't solve all the problems, as solar is no good at night.
Wow... Ii just scrolled up. I have by far wasted too much time trying to solve the world problems instead of pouring a vodka and orange.

You 'did a study' in order to conclude that solar is 'no good at night'?! Not meaning to be rude, but
You don't need to conduct a study to understand that the sun doesn't shine at night. Did your study miss battery storage? And to what extent did you include households that use the bulk of their energy in the day, whether by circumstances (not all households have no occupants during the day!), or by design (appliances with timers).Yeah, I'd stick with the vokda and tonics if I were you.

I don’t think the levity betrays reluctance, I think a lot of people are just now realizing it’s too bloody late, mate!
