Default Welcome to the Republic of Nova Scotia!

Have you all noticed how many threads there are about Nova Scotia??? To be honest, it is high time we had our own board

I am taking names down for the new Republic of Nova Scotia and in true democracy, the first names down get a good juicy decision making job in Government. We will then of course vote for who we want as President.....first we will need to debate if people on the North Shore are even allowed the vote But I am as open to bribery as the next person! A crate of the much talked of Jost wine should do it!

So who wants the job of taking a large bread knife and going to free us from the mainland??

Vive la revolution! Or something..............

You are asking for trouble. You know that capital punishment still applies on the North Shore. You will have to make Truro the seat of Government with Tatamawhatsit the presidents summer retreat.

Oh, and give yourself 40 lashes for being unpatriotic

Saw04 - Well that is a good brave start...........can you share with us how you feel you will lead us well into this new era???

DNS..........as previously mentioned, we have yet to decide on the fate of the North Shore, if we are quick, we could herd them onto the Mainland and then start cutting with the bread knife!!!

I would make it my sole aim in life to promote the Province as a whole in an un biased and fair manner. To provide new comers with the correct information regarding property, jobs and quality of life. Holy S**t Im taking this far to seriously!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely, and what a lovely first lady you'll make my dear. The thing is though, will you want to be living with all us 'ruffians' in Fall River? I suppose there is the fact that you want to be at one with 'your public'.

Your loyal subject, Karen

Plenty of extra days off, especially for anyone willing to mow my grass and wash the presidential car

Well surely we need at least one more Candidate - though of course I am mighty impressed by the committment already shown by Saw04 and his first lady.............mind - you do need to own a buck toothed child to make the Presidental family complete.....how is that going to work out???

I am so in favour of more paid days off. Infact I totally support the suggestion that we have a 3 day work week. And no-one should be allowed to work more than 4 hours per work day. Seems fine to me!

Whilst we are about it......

Lets make a bid for the next Olympic games, we can do that independant of Canada as we are now a Republic. If they say no, lets just whip out some guns and get some forms signed!

To increase tourism lets find some fab look-a-likes, like George Cluney, Brad and Angie, Tom and Katie etc and have them spotted all over NS. But I totally draw the line at Paris Hilton, Britney or the Beckhams! Real or otherwise, they will be publically hung, drawn and quatered.........what a great idea for Harbourside fun over the summer!

We need to reduce taxation and so to increase revenue by other means, maybe start up a band of hairy pirates who scour the local seas, plundering cruise ships.........mostly off the American coasts so as not to obviously be us

Finally. May we change the flag?? Can it be Animal from the Muppets?
