Weird Canadian Suppers
#1
OK, I have noticed that whenever I get invited to someones house for supper they eat the weirdest stuff, I had the most godawful thing which was slimy brown pieces of chicken with other stuff resembling cat puke and it smelled like crap, another time it was the fattiest rarest piece of beef I have ever seen with some kind of stuffed peppers and yellowy other vegetable, then a weird veg dish(not a fan of veg)with stuff I have never seen before, its at the stage now that if I cant avoid said suppers I make sure I take plenty of plastic bags to stuff it in, the first time I shoved some in my back pocket and their 2 dogs were licking my butt when I was trying to put my shoes on to leave!
Note-2 of these couples were Ukranian, oh and what is it with Ukranians and garlic

How do you get it from your plate, to your bag/back pocket without them realising what you are doing?

What a bizarre thread.... surely weird ukrainian suppers would be more accurate?
Nothing like this has happened to me here, but then I dont know any Ukrainians. Still, never does any harm to broaden ones horizons.
Is it not possible to just tell your friends that you dont like a particular dish once you politely try it?

No, I just think that people should play it safe when they invite you to supper especially the first time, I love curry but the majority of Canadians dont so I would never serve up a curry without asking them first, we go for the safe stuff, meat and 2 veg, boring but filling!
