Well in my books, that is a dangerous manoeuvre. Forcing another vehicle to behave differently, especially when you do not have the right of way, is dangerous. As frustrating as it is, and I know it' frustrating, the best way to deal with it, is not to deal with it and let it pass. Forcing equates with aggressive, and aggressive driving is not the same as defensive driving. You may have just been lucky up to now, but as said IF and WHEN this causes an accident, it is YOU who will be at fault.Drive safely for all our sakes, even though we all know there are bad drivers out there.

I think it all comes down to common sense, and good judgement, if the car is approaching too fast and hasn't enough time to react, I will stay where I am, but if hes a reasonable distance behind and has time to react without braking sharply, I will make the manoevere.
Its just adjusting to different styles and culture of driving, in the UK, I would indicate, and if I thought the car was too close, I would wait for him to slow, or even give me a signal that I was ok to move over, here...that doesn't happen.
I know its not the done thing here as when the shoe is on the other foot and I hold back for a car infront to come into my lane, they are hesitant then will move over, and are then very grateful! im hoping that this "new" method of driving will rub off.
Now as ive said take this scenario outside the cars, and its the other way around, if you bump into a guy in a pub in the UK and spill his drink, he is ready to glass you, or at least make you feel as though have shot his dog!! Do the same here, and its profuse apologies all round! I find it fascinating! As I said just differnent cultures we have to adjust to!

You might need to re-do the settings.
