Broadview/Gerrard. Every transfer checked precisely. Stuck there for ages every time because, suddenly, no one is speaking English.

It's OK and very convenient. Nice location of you like being by the lake...and I do.

There are some nice restaurants in the distillery district.

Ordering Turkish food in an Italian restaurant? I think that's a confusion someone might easily have if they weren't often exposed to other nationalities, I imagine that, from a gated estate, all foreigners look somewhat the same, why shouldn't they all eat the same thing? I think you'd get away with it if you were throwing money around like a Russian gas tycoon.

I've only ever had the carbonara, I find really decent carbonara difficult to find here. Toronto has lots of good restaurants - I also like North 44,Centro, Monsoon the list is endless.

When I went to Toronto with my vegan niece in October, we went to a pizza place called The Magic Oven, on I think Queen Street, although there are a few dotted about.

It was really nice and cater for all tastes (including vegan!), with a nice menu focussed on fresh, organic produce.

I hardly think having lived in a few large cities makes me the stereotypical individual you are attempting to ridicule. Another sweeping generalisation from you, no real surprise.

Poor attempt at trying to be a smart ass

Yeah that's just the round the corner from me. I usually get on at Gerrard and Main. I guess I am guilty of switching of on transit. I put my music on and pay little attention. They should have some assistance at transfer points so it's dealt with at the stop pre- street car arrival. I think they focus on that more in Downtown.

No generalisation implied. I might lump you in with Hyacinth Bucket but, beyond that, I can't think of anyone comparable.

A corner I know passably well. Don't eat at Bill's Fish and Chips! There's a nice swimming pool, poorly marked as public, just over the bridge on the east side.

Toronto Islands is quite nice, I would take a trip up the CN Tower just to say that you have been there, and there is a hippobus that takes through the city and then splashes into Ontario Place at the end of the tour....

IMO the CN Tower is a must for a first time visitor. The tickets are pricey but for a little more you can buy dual tickets and eat at the tower's 360 restaurant. Book the meal just before dusk...that way you see both daytime and nighttime views.
