Hull manager Phil Brown is queuing in his local building society, when a gunman bursts in through the door demanding money. Phil attempts to tackle the raider, but gets knocked over...as he falls, his head smashes the counter and he's knocked out cold. The robber escapes and the cashier tries to revive Phil.
After a few minutes he comes round and looks bewildered. His first words are "Where the hell am I?".
The cashier replies: "don't worry, its ok, you're in the Nationwide."
Brown replies, "F**k me, is it May already?"

Isn't there another Presidential election at Real Madrid this year? I seem to remember someone promising Drogba going there if he was elected.
I've read somewhere that Real have always been in debt despite their income, and that if the banks and creditors called in their loans that Real would be bankrupt, but that they wouldn't do it because no-one wants to bring Real down.

Not like Man U then who owe ~£700M at present then???
In reality revenue at both clubs is well over £200M annualy, so although cash flow would be a problem is the debt were to be called, the reality is that all that would happen is a change of ownership....although thats far easier to do at Man U than Real due to the way the clubs are set up.

i must confess, i have not seen enough or know enough about ribery to comment. only time will tell if he is suitable, or even a replacement, seems 20m deal for valencia from wigan is pretty much done, if so this appears to be the replacement. bank the difference? hope not.

Ribery seems a pretty decent hard working player. Bit like Tevez but a bit tougher?

yes, i got that impression from the bit of the bayern/barca game i saw. i do remember him scoring the one goal when france beat us 1-0 last year but thats it. he sort of looks like an even uglier version of gary neville with no sideburns, odd and almost unbelievable. still i bet there is many a manchester lass who will bed him if he comes over. has he won any french footballer awards?

What I can't understand about the Neviller is how or why is he still the MU captain. It should be Ferdinand.
Ribery is the real deal and I believe one of the few french internationals who doesn't throw strops and is a players player a la Scholes.

Is that possible?..to be uglier than Gary, 'I speak in the 3rd person' Neville.

I'd imagine that with Ribery, however well he was playing, you'd get 100% effort. Not as talented as Henry, but..... You pays yer money.....
