Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread
Interesting results in the EPL today, eh? Toon continue their unbeaten streak and now have a hand in the premiership outcome for Chelsea and (by default) for Man U as well. At least next week's game won't be just a formality.

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread
After all their efforts, it's hard to believe that Man U might end the season with nothing.
Looking forward to next season, I think your lot are guaranteed a minimum of 17th place (I mean, looking at the current promotion selection from the championship). I can't see any of those teams faring much better than Derby did this year. 1 Stoke 45 14 78 2 West Brom 44 31 77 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 Hull 45 19 75 4 Bristol City 45 -2 71 5 Watford 45 6 69 6 Crystal Palace 45 11 68 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7 Wolverhampton 45 4 67 8 Ipswich 45 8 66 9 Sheff Utd 45 6 66

worrying times at utd, possible turn around next week with the return leg against barca. still think we'll get league title at the pie eaters last game. |
Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread
I used to go to see Stoke in early seventies when Banks was their keeper and they had the genius of Alan Hudson
I felt gutted for them yesterday because they were promoted until Hull scored their winner with 5 mins to go !! |
Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread
I think we got it.
united will draw against west ham leaving us to go to the toon last game of season where we shall hand outa footballing lesson. Result chelsea champs Fergie choking on his gum and king Kev pulling out his dodgy perm. |
Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread
Nah, they're not "my lot". They've just been incredibly entertaining to watch this season, don't you think?
Same with Arsenal (at least for the few times I've seen them). Like I say, really surprising to think that Man U. could end with nothing and Chelsea have somehow got a chance to win both the Champions league and EPL.

It's not hard to believe at all. But we'd love to beat Chelsea for you anyway.
Your lot too I would think. At best. |

hmm thats one way of putting it. i believe newcastle were very lucky, one commentator mentioning your defence and titus bramble in the same sentance and that can never be a good thing.
"I'd sooner be a lucky manager than a good one, to be honest,' said Kevin Keegan. 'Alex Ferguson's a very lucky manager." - today's Observer match report. Who are you going to be cheering for on May 5th? |

Who are you going to be cheering for on May 5th? but you cannot count on lucky streaks etc, and there is always the old argument of making your luck. i remember the first big arrest i had. an old sgt congratulated me, i said i was just lucky, right place right time. he replied, "no such thing as luck, its just good hard work" |

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread
We have a chance and thats all you can ask for with only a couple of games to go.
See liverpool fielded a crap team so they could rest all the big boys ahead of the return leg. its a disgrace they have an advantage over chelsea and manu just because they have had nothing domestically to play for since january |
Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread
not trying to get any excuses in as i think we will still win but it does p you off
