I watched the United game in a pub showing RDS. The commentary was in French, by a woman. I rather liked it. But then I was assuming that the commentatrice looked like Mélissa Theuriau.

reminder, if you need of the last time. rivaldo and figo were devastating. we will miss keane, are ronaldo and rooney the new cole and york?

Luckily for you, Peter Schmeichel was pretty devastating too.

Should be an interesting semi this year.

I'm sure we'll do fine thanks. We'll see which of our teams concedes the least fouls and the least number of cards today?

Err. It's on regular TV (The Score). 0-0 at the half. Arse are the better team so far.

Well you didn't miss much. Good goal from Arse followed by a lucky penalty and a set piece goal 2-1. You get the points.

Since when has using your arm to put the ball in the net been called a "good goal"? No real argument about the penalty either, even Gallas didn't argue which is probably a good indictator that he knew what he was doing in sticking his arm out like that.

Although as a Man Utd fan I have to admit the Arsenal looked the better team for most of the match (I'll probably need therapy for saying that).

Did you think he used an arm? If so, I withdraw the remark. And I didn't say it was a wrong penalty, just a lucky one. Gallas was trying to avoid the ball, and if he'd succeeded it would have gone through to the goalie. But what do I care?

Good old mouthy Jens. Got himself booked again.
What I can't work out is why there were no men at the posts for the free kick. It was clear from the stunned reaction that Ronaldo was expected to take it, and everyone knows what he can do from that position.

Can only assume Lehmann - who spent the days since our exit from the Champion's League crowing about how we'd still be in every competition if he'd not been replaced with Almunia - made that, very poor, decision himself.
