As you alluded to most of the people who claim to be fans live in places like BC and Surrey. The reason as we all know is because Manchester United is a brand that people whoo know little about football associate with so they can try and fit in with the world around them.
The season ticket holder who lives walking distance from the ground, or the season ticket holder who travels 150-200 miles to home games?
Both are valued supporters.

Someone travelling 200 miles to support a team they have no connection with other than the fact that they want to support a team of winners is just an idiot wagon jumper if you ask me...
People should have some connection to "their" team other then "I saw them on the telly and they won lots" IMO. Commecial Directors selling shirts in the far east by the container load would no doubt beg to differ.

They need to go go high profile for a Hiddink or some one of that ilk.
Be nice to see Liverpool entertain again. Very defensive minded under Houllier and Benitez.

I can see that someone traveling 200 miles to support the team from the town they were born or raised in is passionate.

Actually the fans I most admire are the season ticket holders who then drive all over the country to watch their team play away games aswell. I also kind of feel a sense of pity as they must blow most of their cash on it.

Although not EPL congratulations to Liverpool for reaching the final of the FA Cup.
Perhaps from a distance Andy Carroll did look like a donkey but he has scored 2 x important goals in the last 2 x matches and might actually resemble a work horse. Attention has now swung away from him for the time being.

But the Toon aren't finished yet. Why not just ratchet the dream up a notch? A 4th place finish and a shot at the Champions League.
Haway the lads!
