They got the venue wrong though. It was at Eastville.

One you'll never have heard of from the same vintage was an extremely talented young local lad called Geoff Allen. He played in that season as a regular until the home game against Feyenoord in the first game Toon had ever played in European competition.

He got his leg broken in the first half and never played football again.

Tony Green bought from Blackpool was another great loss.

lol, I wish I could say all of them.

We are a team totally new to the Premiership (as in no Premiership experience in the team even) and our striker we just bought from Watford, so have no idea.

England ranked 4th in world, above Brazil?

How is that possible. I suspect more FIFA corruption.

dont look at FIFA world rankings they mean nothing..there is another world ranking system that discounts friendlies and only takes into account performances in qualifying and actual tournaments and they also rate the standard of the tournament in regards to quality...now im not to sure but the Euros and the Coppa America rank equally if not above the World Cup.

Brazil aren't what they were.

But we all know that to put England in the top 10 in the world is bold.

Fifa Rankings are as credible as the Fifa World Cup Selection Committee.

I have nothing further to add. Still on my Fifa boycott. At least Jack Warner is gone.

Charlie Adam is a Liverpool player now after a long wait. Undisclosed fee! Blackpool were after 9m presume that is a close aproximation.

Can the last one out turn the light off at Blackpool FC...

Chicago vs Man Utd on in 1 minute, for those desperate for a footy fix.

Simon Cowe (not Cowell) from Lindesfarne runs the "C'est What Restaurant and Brewpub" on Front Street in Toronto. Must be your generation (and mine).

Jeez, already? When does the season start? I'm sitting on Omaha Beach listening to England beating India in the first Test (I hope). It's difficult to concentrate on footy.

We could do with at least two more wickets before tea.

50 overs to go and 5 wickets needed.

It's these days when the English person in Canada should be given some special time out of the office.

Hear hear, especially when one has been up since three in the morning.
