Thanks Pd. It's a while since I've enjoyed a 0-0 match so much. :)

That's our 40 points then: I can start to look forward to next year's premiership with confidence.

Jolly good.

We enjoyed that, thanks for sharing

However my level of sanity, as well as my identity, remain anonymousish here for the time being. At least, until, I figure out how to sell some shit to you guys. I'm thinking there must be some way of making money here, perhaps through selling real estate, doing-up immigration applications or flogging baked beans with a massive mark up

There are already several posters covering the first two categories. I'd go for the beans old bean.

Can you tell me exactly how many beans there are in a tin?

I found a can in the cupboard and have set the OH to work on that.

I told her she's not allowed to open it, so the solution she comes up with should be very interesting. I'll count them after the match to see how close she is with her calculations.

You are true genius, sir. I salute you.

Luckily I'm watching the match at work, so for me the issue of keeping SWMBO out of the way is moot.

Shameless self promotion.

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread

Anyone care to speculate on relegations and promotions yet?

For relegation from the premiership, I'm thinking two teams, names beginning with 'W" and one team, name beginning with "B".

Probably Blackpool.

Here're the Championship standings, below. A good mate of mine, Norwich supporter, and I went to a couple of their home games- they did a lot of great 'one-touch' passing back then, and Delia was present in the ground. Isn't she marvellous? And it's been a long time since Forest were in the top-flight, too long.

Team P GD PTS
1 QPR 44 38 85
2 Norwich 44 24 80
3 Cardiff 44 25 79
4 Swansea 44 21 74
5 Reading 44 25 73
6 Nott'm Forest 44 12 69
7 Millwall 44 17 67
8 Burnley 44 5 67
9 Dirty Scum Leeds 44 9 66

I'd agree with the prem relegation choices, and also with the idea that Forest would be a welcome addition for next year.

The playoff system for the third spot is silly IMHO, but it would only be fair that if Nottingham finish in 6th this year, after finishing 3rd last season on 79 points, they repeat the jam that got Blackpool promoted then after they finished 6th on 70 points.

Edit: having said that I think Cardiff deserve it more.
