If you want to be stuck by, you'd better have success. (Joe Harvey 1962-75, Bobby Robson 1999-2004). KK could have stayed forever but his head went all funny and he resigned.

The Toon fans define success as playing attractive football with all-out commitment, giving the fans something to be proud of and something to look forward to. It's not all about tawdry bits of silver gilt like some places.

Wow. Doesn't cost much to impress a Newcastle lass if they're not interested in the shiny stuff.

Thats the most obvious thing anyone has ever said about Newcastle I guess Joses style would rule him out then

Success takes time to achieve, especially after years without it. Ask Alex Ferguson.

True. All that is asked of a manager in Toon is that he's clearly headed in the right direction. BSA was not.

Edit: I missed your edit on Jose. As far as I'm concerned, yes. But he wouldn't take the job anyway, so it's moot.

At least with a league club any manager can buy in players to strengthen his squad and sell players to finance some of these.

With an international team, any manager is going to be stuck with a more limited pool of resources. Look at Sven-Goren Erikson. Not a great England manager yet doing well with Man City this season.

Oh dear, I've just checked the betting again. Looks like a ton of dough is going on 'Arry... he's at 5-6 now. Big Al out to 11-4.

Dunno....rich new owner, high expectations, big challenge, chance to stay in England and rub certain peoples noses in it if he acheived sucess? If I was the chairman I'd at least be enquiring.

If you were the chairman, I doubt you'd have signed BSA in the first place.

Good points all. But "Jose Mourinho's Black and White Army?"

Nah. It's wrong.

Of course not....I dont want to see Newcastle do well, and to be honest at the time I thought it would be good for the toon

I thought it was great for the Toons. Maybe they'll hire Roger and Jessica Rabbit as Toon Town's next comic relief.
