If you need a moment of Friday-style amusement, have a read of the caption at the top of the page of Google news after searching the keyword "Bale"...

**** that, 2-0 after 25 minutes. :frown:

Ah, well. I doubt many teams will win at the Etihad this season. Certainly not mine.

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread

Half time. Still 2-0, there's hope. But rather less than before now the Toon is down to 10 men.

I would also like to note that Yohan Cabaye, who is perfectly fit, isn't playing, I presume because the Arse have made an offer you can't refuse.... if your Joe Kinnear, Director of F****ll.

He probably means soccer. I'm not surprised. It's hard to tell who's playing because they don't put the team logo on, just the sponsor, so it's the (Everton) Changs versus the (Manchester) Aons.... referees dress like highway flagmen and the goalies just wear what they feel like. 30 years ago when buying dart flights at The Source in Vancouver I chose the ones with the field piece on them because I'd been an artillery gunner and so began, (unknowingly), a lifelong allegiance to Arsenal. You should watch some CFL football Novo, it has it's moments.

We lost 4-0 at Man City first game of the season 2 years ago, our first Prem game too. We ended up having a decent season too.

Last year we won 5-0 at QPR first game and did even better.

This year we lose at home 1-4 to manyoo, played well though so think this year will be fairly decent too.

Time will tell.

If I got my sums right, Bale is set to earn a minimum of £102,100,000 over the next six years.

Which, apparently, is £102,100,000 more than the combined income of the 6,000,000 unemployed in Spain.

Just a slight disparity there, then.

I don't know... Sturridge has already had some truly world class moments this season and we're soon to encounter the Return of Hannibal.

It was always going to end in tears. There must be someone available they have in mind.........

NUFC were making quite a good start to the season - losing to Hull after leading at half time doesn't bode well though.

It says a lot about the absurdity of their [Sunderland] decisions if they're going to sack someone like MO and hire that twat as a replacement.

Selling Mignolet seemed like a bad idea too. However, it looks like that decision was very beneficial to both his career and my fantasy football team :)

There is nothing, nothing at all, I'd like to see more than that.
