The famous "red balloon assisted goal":
They say if the football hits the balloon (or any object that shouldn't be on the pitch) then play should be stopped and the referee should restart the game with a drop ball. Apparently neither the linesman or referee were aware of this rule

I have it on good authority that all Man Utd fans officially travelling to Anfield for this Sundays match will be in possession of a red beach ball that will be inflated inside the ground and that the pitch just before kick off may resemble Torremolinos Beach ........should be fun

i know, i like the still images where you can see the anfield crest on the ball as the match ball goes into the net. classic, quite possibly may replace my screen saver, but its a tough call.
