At dinner tonight my stepdaughter commented that she often starts reading a book and then realises that she already read it. I said, not just me then, because streaming movies is so easy these days that I see far more movies than I used to but that I don't remember the titles. So I start watching something and discovering I already saw it.

And she responds "yes...time was that to see a movie you went to the video store and rented one."

Phil Collins. I saved some of his albums on Spotify (ahem) and he has reissued the album artwork (generally close up full face pictures) with up to date images. He was never blessed with good looks, but now it's his mug and he's so ooooold. So I looked up his recent You Tubes and he's practically decrepit. Considering how energetic he was in the 80s/90s I was surprised.

People who remember Phil Collins.

Rec'd an email notice from the government on enabling direct deposit for my old age pension. I saw Paul Revere and the Raiders once.

This is one of the things I've "noticed" from being over here. There are a number of people - former sports stars, music people, actors etc - who are very well known in the UK who, if one were still living there, would see on the tabloid front pages on the newstands, on the odd chatshow, TV quizzes like A Question Of Sport, Never Mind The Buzzcocks etc and you'd see them age gradually, thinking nothing of it.

People like the Stones, McCartney, Springsteen, Beckham, Pacino, Streep are famous enough to crop up regularly but others not.

Because Champions League football rights have been lost to Canadian TV, I watched a match via a stream last week from BT and obviously there were British commercials in the breaks. Kriss Akabusi was in one. Bloody hell, that was a shock!

He may well be. I haven't been exposed to Canadian radio or TV for years.
