I cut the spears off some asparagus (for tomorrow) and made use of most of the remaining parts of the stalks, about half of which I would normally dispose, adding them to the carrots and spuds in the actifry.
I'm just trying some more (saving the spears again) to go with some hot dogs and it just occurred to me...

Ungraded Rib Eye steak.

I had to look up what ungraded meant. Taste was every bit as good as usual. Each piece just had a little bit of gristle on the side. Four steaks, each just over 6 oz, $13 in our local store.

I shall keep an eye () open for ungraded again as graded is usually twice the price.

Loblaws/Superstore 'from our chefs' Mexican style pork loin centre cut chop.

Really, really nice. Baby carrots done in the actifry come out magnificently.

Roast Turkey, savoury wedges, mixed veg, roast cauli, cranberry stuffing and gravy.

None of it was planned, we just struggled for freezer space when returning with last Thursday's shopping and taking the last Turkey out of the freezer made room for a few things.

Turkey was perfection.

Stupidest creature in the barnyard though; they'll drown looking up at the rain. Pork chops were on for $1.50/lb at No Frills so I brined a pack and got the smoker out and did some pork chops and sausages, I have sauerkraut and potatoes....

They had a rather nice dark beer but I forgot what it's called. But isn't it nice to be able to go into a supermarket, corner shop or petrol station and pick up some beer or wine like a grown up?

Black Butte? Probably makes your bedroom smell like the elephant house in the morning

Your'e right, I miss going to Tesco for my booze. The range at this supermarket was particularly wide. Don't get me started on the cheese....any shop with a cheese called Rattlesnake and Vampire slayer is good in my book

Yeah, that's the stuff. They were a bit filling so sou couldn't have too many of them though.
