Since school, though, one (posh ) comes to think of dinner as the main meal of the day so that could be lunch or tea. But then do you drink your food, which you might do with tea?
The Quebecker bunch have always said souper, so I got used to saying supper.
Definitely.
So with the other part of the family calling 'tea' supper/souper I now refer to English supper as being the later snack.

Supper is for children, milk and a biscuit-maybe 2 biscuits.

What the naff is 'brunch'? I think it was invented for lazy septics who can't get up at a reasonable time.
