This kind of thing is why I left the UK. It's political correctness gone mad from so-called do-gooders. Thank goodness we have news sources like the sun where the truth can be told without bias or the distortion of the facts you get from the likes of the BBC.

Bloody immigrants. Next thing you know they'll be complaining that cheese in England is rubbish and expensive, same with wine. Not forgetting the complaints that the English are bad drivers and can't tell the difference between the Polish or Slovaks.

That recent BBC report also mentions West Midlands Police saying that no directive has been received, there weren't just comments from the Met police. Why are you dismissing comments from the rest of England when your original post said you were telling us how things were in England now? Do you have any other evidence of how things are in the entire country? Your evidence is based on what your local landlady has been told by other publicans, plus you tell us that as you don't live in the town centre you aren't affected. In support of all this you post a link to a 2 year old article in the Sun newspaper.

The ban was in any case more to do with football hooligans rather than immigrants.

Get some real evidence to support what you say and I might be more inclined to believe you. As it is your post just seems to me to be adding more fuel to the "England swamped by immigrants" hate campaign.

How many immigrants does it require to be 'swamped'? Is it more or less than in a 'drove' - which, as everyone knows, is the standard unit for immigrant counting.

Sorry but this is Daily Mail bollocks.
There's a football tournament every 2 years, and every time, we hear the same rubbish about pubs etc being banned from waving the flag. And then everytime, the whole country is flooded with flags, attached to cars, in all the supermarkets, the pubs, etc.

I doubt very much that anyone has the legal authority to compel anyone to take down a St. George's flag. It is public hysteria gone mad. If any council made such a request (even of a school or other public building) and the occupant refused, I suspect that there would be nothing that the council could do to have the item removed with first making an Application to a Court and obtaining an Order I would suggest that the prospects of obtaining such an Order would be slightly above nil.

I don't live in England so you can dismiss me as not knowing what I am talking about if you like, but I have several friends who do and I was there less than four weeks ago.
I am totally against hate campaigns of any sort and do not support violence or uncivilised behaviour to anyone,but.............I can understand why it is happening.

The whole of England has not been swamped, but sections of it have been. When you bring more people of another culture into an already existing one, than are already there, you will always create disharmony. The resident culture is under threat and will reject the incomers. It is biological. It is the same as organ transplant medicine. The host will reject the transplant.

We, in Scotland, are now being 'swamped' by the English who are leaving their own country, where they feel like foreigners, to set up home "in the only part of the UK were I still feel British" as one man told me. Trouble is they are changing our society in similar ways to which the incomers to their society changed theirs.

The real issue, as I see it, is not about Poles, Slavs, Portuguese or any other nationals; it is about the number of those nationals and how they do or do not integrate into the English culture to which they have chosen to move.

The English need to be firmer about saving their culture, while being perfectly willing to share it with those willing to work and make a new life for themselves in England.
