The same with Dr. Pepper. I don't know how they drink any of that stuff.

Well I have a glass at the moment, just in case I hadn't been coming across northern enough before...diff brands can taste like germaline abit though...I tried a root beer when last over (A&W) & didn't find it that close, or nice IMHO, even though the principle seemed similar.

if we are going abit random vintage food & drink though I reeaally like elderflower cordials etc

I am allergic to elderflower - sadly, because Mr Chookie used to make some cracking elderflower wine...

As for vintage drinks, I have a gingerbeer plant, so we drink lashings of ginger beer (AKA the Famous 5).

I used to love Dandelion and Burdock as a dirty kneed boys in short trousers in South Wales.

Shame Coca Cola and Pepsi trampled all the great fizzy drink companies (like Corona) into the ground, much like the rhubarb patch.

Root beer is disgusting (yuk) like drinking the liniment we used to rub on our legs before a footy game on cold wet days.

OOoh Ginger beer plant ... now that takes me back. Maybe I'll start one up; it's hard to find good ginger beer here.

On the subject of weird drinks: One of my Dad's patients (he's a retired GP) used to make pea-shuck wine ... absolutely lethal!

Ginger Beer sold in Safeway or Co-op I think it's around $7-8 for six and one was around $1.50 per bottle in the Dalhousie Co-op.

Don't know how good it is.

I buy my ginger beer in Superstore in the ethnic section. I think it is Jamaican. I need it to make my favorite drink - A Dark and Stormy
